Small Family Owned Farm
During the boom in the Qld strawberry industry in recent years, the demand for our produce has certainly increased. Though we are a relatively small farm, we have risen to the challenge and have expanded in land and crops. After a dull 2016 season accross the industry board, exciting lay in store for Sommer Fruits in 2017 including new farming method trials and some new grants and buildings.

Be sure to check out the up and coming strawberry industry events, such as the major annual Sandstone Point Strawberry Festival. It's a huge event with jumping castles and games for the kids as well as stunning displays of strawberry eats and products, along with all of the usual and extra services of the venue.
New 15% Backpacker Tax
The infamous backpacker tax has risen to 15% and the government has begun to crack down on participating farms. As much as we oppose the increase, we are grateful that it will be a vital tool in weeding out dodgy contractors and growers.
